Must-See Programmes This Christmas

The BBC and Channel 4 are showcasing two fantastic programmes produced by Lupus Films this Christmas.

Graphic novel Ethel and Ernest by Raymond Briggs has been adapted into a beautifully hand-drawn, animated feature length programme for the BBC. Ethel and Ernest stars Oscar-winning actor Jim Broadbent and Brenda Blethyn in the story of Raymond Briggs' parents over their 40 or so years together through WWII, the cultural revolution of the 1960s, and beyond. The show features brilliant performances and a new song by Paul McCartney. See our previous news update here for more details. Ethel & Ernest will be broadcast on BBC1 at 7:30 on Wednesday 28 December 2016.

The children's classic We're Going on a Bear Hunt by Michael Rosen and Helen Oxenbury has been brought to life by Lupus Films for Channel 4 this Christmas. The programme recreates all the magic from the book with performances by Olivia Colman, Mark Williams and Pam Ferris, stunning animation, and a new song by George Ezra. We're Going on a Bear Hunt will be broadcast at 7:30 on Christmas Eve 24 December 2016.
